CHAPTER 6

7 days Later …

The atmosphere at Jeon Corporation was tense but brimming with excitement as all the staff stood in a perfect line, awaiting the arrival of the new CEO, Jeon Jungkook. The sleek marble floors reflected the grand interior of the office, and the soft hum of whispers filled the air as everyone exchanged glances, anxious yet eager to impress the man now officially in charge.

Suddenly, the glass doors opened, and Jeon Jungkook strode in with a group of board members, his presence commanding immediate attention. His tailored suit was immaculate, and there was a cool confidence in his stride. The room fell into a hushed silence, as everyone respectfully bowed to the new CEO.

As Jungkook walked past the line of employees, his gaze landed on you. For a moment, time seemed to freeze. His dark eyes locked onto yours, and your breath caught in your throat. The faintest smirk tugged at the corner of his lips, and in a bold, almost playful gesture, he winked at you.

A small smirk tugged at his lips, as he passed through and sent a rush of heat to your cheeks. You couldn’t move, couldn’t look away. It felt like time had stopped, and for those few seconds, it was only you and him. Then, without a word, he turned and entered the boardroom, leaving you frozen in place.

The office buzzed back to life, but you remained rooted to the spot, trapped in your thoughts. Why did he do that? What does it mean? Questions flooded your mind as you stared blankly at the closed boardroom door.

“Miss YN?”

The sudden voice snapped you out of your daze. You blinked, turning to see Mr. Choi, standing beside you with a frown on his face.

“Miss YN,” he repeated, this time more firmly, tapping your shoulder. “Now is not the time to zone out.”

You blinked again, feeling the blood rush to your face in embarrassment. “I-I’m sorry, Mr. Choi.”

He sighed, shaking his head slightly. “Mr. Jungkook will be coming here every day now. He doesn’t tolerate this kind of attitude. You need to stay focused,” he said, his tone more concerned than harsh.

Hearing this sends a shiver down your spine. but control yourself and nodded quickly, “I understand. It won’t happen again.”

Mr. Choi gave a curt nod before walking away, leaving you standing there, your mind spinning. Every day... The thought of seeing Jungkook daily, and how unpredictable his actions could be, sent another shiver through you. You had to be careful, and you had to guard yourself.

How will I manage here? I can't resign because of the stupid agreement . He is a CEO right, he won't have that time to bother me right. Yes he will be busy with this work and after i complete my work I won't stay here any longer so that he couldn't do anything to me ..

But a small part of you—a part you didn’t want to admit—was already looking forward to the next time your eyes would meet.

Time skips

The workday had been long, but the relief of submitting your project to the manager washed over you like a cool breeze. You were grateful Mr. Choi hadn’t called you back after that brief reprimand. You booked a cab and headed out, the fresh air of the late afternoon soothing your nerves as you left the office building.

As usual, the cab driver—your friend—was waiting for you. He was someone you’d known for a while now, and he always made sure to drop you off close to your doorstep. The drive was smooth, filled with casual conversation about your day and some laughter, easing the tension in your chest.

“Thanks again,” you said, handing him the fare as the cab pulled to a stop near your block.

“No problem. You take care, YN. See you tomorrow, same time?” he asked with a friendly smile as he stepped out to help you with your bags.

“Of course,” you replied, smiling back. He gave a small wave before getting back into his car. You started the short walk toward your house, your mind already on the comfort waiting for you inside.

Jungkook’s POV

I’ve been following her for the past few minutes, watching every move she made. My heart pounded with excitement as I trailed her cab from a safe distance, waiting for the right moment to approach. Today, I didn’t get the time to talk to her in the office—too many meetings, too many distractions—but now, it’s just me and her.

The thought of seeing her at her doorstep, catching her off guard, sent a thrill through my veins. I could picture her surprise, the wide eyes, the shy smile. I’d been waiting for this. She would finally be mine again, and this time, nothing would stand in the way.

I pulled over a few cars behind the cab, watching as she got out and handed the fare to the driver. My fists clenched around the steering wheel as I anticipated the moment I’d step out and approach her. But then something changed.

She started to walk toward her house, and just as I was about to follow, a voice called her name. I froze.

“YN!”

I watched, my jaw tightening as a woman appeared, walking up to her. They embraced like close friends, and the woman took the bags from YN’s hands. My eyes narrowed. Who the hell is she?

They talked for a minute, laughing softly before walking inside together. The door closed behind them, and all I could do was stare. The thrill in my chest quickly turned to boiling frustration. I slammed my fist against the steering wheel.

“Damn it!” I growled under my breath, my eyes locked on the house. I was supposed to spend time with her today, hold her, make her understand that she belongs with me. And now this stranger had ruined it all.

Who does she think she is, walking into YN’s house like that?

I got out of the car, pacing in front of it, my blood boiling with anger. I kicked one of the tires, cursing under my breath.

“No one’s going to get between us,” I muttered, breathing heavily as I glared at the house. “Not her, not anyone.”

Finally, after kicking the tire one last time, I yanked the car door open and slid inside, gripping the wheel tightly. I hit the gas, the engine roaring as I sped off toward the mansion.

Back at the mansion, I paced the floor of my office, my mind racing. I couldn’t stop thinking about YN, how close she was, how badly I needed to make her mine again.

“I have to do something about this,” I said to myself, running a hand through my hair in frustration. “She won’t be able to hide from me this time. No one will stop me. Not her friends, not her family… not even her.”

I picked up my phone, staring at her number, contemplating my next move.

“You’re mine, YN,” I whispered, the determination bu

rning in my chest. “And I’ll do whatever it takes to get you back.”
