Chapter 12

BOC DEPARTMENT

The tension inside the dimly lit, soundproof room was palpable. Chief Kang, Ahn Bohan, and Taecyeon huddled around a sleek, dark table. The room's only source of light was the glow of a few strategically placed lamps, casting long shadows across their faces as they leaned in to finalize their plan.

Chief Kang, smugly sipping his whiskey, leaned back and said, "We've finally done it. Minho, Jiwoon, Yeojun, and Jackson think they're in control, but they've fallen into our trap. The moment Bangtan is cornered, it's over for them."

Ahn Bohan's lips curled into a satisfied grin. "They were the BOC's best officers, but their loyalty blinded them. Now they're nothing but pawns. Once we use them to take down Bangtan, there's no one left to stop us."

Taecyeon, always the cautious one, added, "And when they're out of the way, Chief Lee will be next. Kang, you'll step into his shoes, and we'll rule this department. No more looking over our shoulders."

Chief Kang nodded slowly, his eyes gleaming with ambition. "Yes, and no one will ever suspect us. We'll get rid of Minho and his team, make Bangtan the scapegoat, and take everything. This city will finally be under our control."

What they didn't realize was that someone was lurking nearby—someone who had been listening to every word. Hidden behind a stack of boxes in the adjacent storage room, Leo, a former ally of Bangtan, was recording the entire conversation on his phone. His heart raced as he realized the enormity of the conspiracy.

"They're going to kill Minho and his team... and frame Bangtan," Leo whispered to himself, clenching his fists. "I have to warn them."

He moved quietly, inching his way toward the exit, careful not to make a sound. As the conversation inside the room continued, Leo's resolve grew stronger.

Chief Kang leaned forward, his voice low but filled with malice. "Once Bangtan falls, we'll eliminate anyone who stands in our way. No loose ends. No survivors."

Ahn Bohan chuckled darkly. "Chief Lee will never see it coming. We'll make it look like an accident. By the time anyone realizes what's happened, it'll be too late."

Taecyeon smirked. "And with us in control, this city will bow to our will."

Leo's mind raced as he slipped out of the room undetected. He knew the danger he was in, but there was no turning back now. He had recorded everything. As he stepped into the alley outside, he made a silent vow.

"I'll help Bangtan, no matter what happens," he whispered, slipping the phone into his pocket. "They have the to know the truth."

The cold night air bit at his skin as he disappeared into the shadows, his heart pounding with urgency. He had to get this recording to Bangtan before it was too late. The game had changed, and the stakes were higher than ever.

Bangtan mansion

The air in the mansion felt heavy as Taehyung and Jimin stepped inside. The dim lights cast long shadows across the hall where Yoongi, Namjoon, Jin, and J-Hope sat, discussing matters of urgency. The tension was palpable, and as soon as Taehyung entered, all eyes shifted towards him.

Taehyung's sharp gaze scanned the room before his attention turned to Jin.

"Where's Jungkook?" Taehyung asked, his voice laced with authority.

Jin sighed, shaking his head. "He had a business meeting. After leaving Sarang's cafe, he went straight to his personal office. He won't be able to join us for this discussion."

Taehyung gave a slight nod of acknowledgment, though his mind was elsewhere. His jaw clenched in anticipation as he turned towards Yoongi who sat with a thick file in his hands .

Yoongi stood up, crossing the room in a few swift steps to hand Taehyung the file. His eyes, usually calm and calculating, were dark with concern.

Taehyung, you need to see this."

Taehyung took the file from Yoongi, his hands tightening around it. Jimin moved closer, sensing the heavy atmosphere. The room fell silent as Taehyung flipped through the pages, his expression darkening with every word he read.

"This just came in from my man," Yoongi said, his voice low but steady when he handed the file

Everyone watched in silence as Taehyung flipped through the pages. His eyes darkened as he absorbed the information—Minho, Yeojun, and Jackson were plotting to raid the Bangtan mansion. Every detail of their plan was meticulously laid out in the report, from their timing to their strategy.

Jimin leaned forward, his face contorting in anger.

"Are they out of their minds?"

Taehyung, however, said nothing. His jaw clenched, his knuckles whitening as he gripped the file tighter. The cold silence that followed only fueled the growing tension.

Taehyung flipped open the file and began to read, each line making his blood boil hotter. Every detail was laid out—Minho, Yeojun, and Jackson were planning an assault on Bangtan mansion. Everything was spelled out: the timing, the resources, and the clear intent to destroy everything Bangtan had built.

He finally slammed the file shut and stood, his movements slow but deliberate.

Jimin could feel the anger rising within him, but he kept his exterior calm for the moment.

"They want to raid our mansion?" Taehyung's voice was low, dripping with barely restrained fury. "Let's give them a visit first."

Namjoon, always level-headed, spoke next. "We need to plan this carefully. They think they can catch us off guard, but we need to be one step ahead."

Yoongi nodded. "Suga's man has all eyes on their movements. We can hit them before they even know what's coming."

J-Hope leaned back in his chair, tapping his fingers against the table. "But we can't just retaliate. We need to send a message. One they won't forget."

Taehyung turned to him, a smirk playing at the corner of his lips. "Oh, we will. Prepare the men. I want them ready by tonight."

Jimin, always eager for action, cracked his knuckles. "We're going to make sure they regret ever thinking they could touch Bangtan."

Taehyung's voice hardened as he gave his final orders. "This isn't just a defense. This is a warning. Minho, Yeojun, Jackson—make sure they know this is only the beginning."

Taehyung's gaze was fiery, his eyes practically glowing with rage as he looked at each of his brothers. His voice lowered to a dangerous whisper.

"Prepare a proper visit for them. Make sure they remember who owns this city."

Namjoon smirked, the fire of anticipation lighting his eyes.

"They won't even know what hit them."

Taehyung glanced at Yoongi, who had been the one to uncover the plot.

"Get every detail on their whereabouts and plans. I want no surprises."

Yoongi gave a short nod. "Consider it done."

Jin folded his arms across his chest, his gaze steady but deadly serious.

"This will be their final mistake."

Taehyung paced in front of them, his mind already calculating every move, every step they would need to take. He would not let this slide, not let anyone dare to threaten his family or their empire.

"We just have to wait for them to come to us. Let them begin but we assure them that we will strike last. It's time they should know Bangtan doesn't crumble under threats. We crush them before they even have a chance to act."

Namjoon, J-Hope, Jin, and Yoongi exchanged glances, their trust in their leader clear. With Taehyung at the helm, there was no doubt in their minds. Bangtan was ready for war, and nothing would stop them from defending their territory.

Jimin, who had been silent until now, finally spoke up, his voice calm but firm.

"And if they touch Yuna and Sarang or anyone close to us..." He trailed off, but the implication was clear.

Taehyung's gaze hardened even further at the mention of Sarang, his resolve growing deeper.

"They won't even get the chance. I know how to do it, let's go. I know what I have to do"

With that, Taehyung and Jimin left the mansion while other brothers dispersed, each man ready to play his role in the coming storm .

They had built this empire together, and they would defend it—no matter what.

They won't see us coming," Taehyung murmured under his breath, his eyes flashing with a cold determination as he stepped into the night.

The mansion was their home, their sanctuary, and no one—no one—would threaten that without facing the consequences.

"They won't see us coming," Taehyung murmured under his breath, his eyes flashing with a cold determination as he stepped into the night.

As the meeting came to an end, both Taehyung and Jimin turned door, his mind already formulating the next move.

Third Person's Pov

Mr. Haesung staggered into his home, exhausted, his mind weighed down by the events at the hospital. His wife's health had been deteriorating for months, and tonight's visit to the hospital had left him more worried than ever. As he fumbled to turn on the lights, a strange chill settled in the air. His heart raced when he saw two men sitting on his couch, their presence both unsettling and unexpected.

The older man blinked in shock. He didn't know these men, yet their confidence in his living room spoke volumes. Just as he was about to demand who they were and what they wanted, he heard the soft click of the door locking behind him. He turned swiftly to find two large guards now standing at attention by the door, blocking any potential escape. His heart pounded louder in his chest, and panic began to settle in.

Before he could react, one of the men, dressed in an impeccably tailored black suit, gestured subtly toward the guards.

"Do not harm him. He's innocent," the man said in a smooth, deep voice. "We're not here for violence, just to negotiate."

The calm authority in his tone sent shivers down Mr. Haesung's spine. Taehyung, the name he recognized now. The Mafia leader. And that meant the other man must be Jimin, always quiet, but deadly.

Taehyung broke the silence, his dark gaze locking onto Mr. Haesung's trembling form.

"Mr. Haesung," Taehyung's voice cut through the room like a knife, calm but laced with danger, "please take a seat. We won't harm you, so long as you don't do anything stupid."

Haesung swallowed hard, his legs barely able to support him as he stumbled to the chair across from the two men. The aura around them was suffocating—he could feel the power radiating off them, and it made the hairs on the back of his neck stand up.

Taehyung leaned forward slightly, his hands clasped together in front of him. "I know what you're going through," he said softly, his voice almost sympathetic. "Your wife's health, the mounting bills... I can help you."

Mr. Haesung's breath hitched, the faint glimmer of hope flickering within him. "Help me?"

Taehyung's expression darkened, though his smile remained cold. "Yes, but only if you do exactly as I say."

Haesung's brow furrowed, confusion and fear mixing in his eyes. "W-What do you want from me?"

"You will go to Sarang's house tomorrow," Taehyung began, his tone businesslike, "and you will tell her she has three days to leave your home. You'll say you need to sell it immediately. Do you understand?"

The color drained from Haesung's face. "S-Sell my house? But Sarang—she's been staying with us. Where will she go? And who will buy it?"

"I will," Taehyung answered simply. "And don't worry, she'll find somewhere else. That's not your concern."

Haesung's voice trembled as he tried to process the situation. "But... I can't just throw her out. She's like family. What will I tell her?"

A shadow crossed Taehyung's face. He leaned in closer, his eyes narrowing, the weight of his next words heavy with unspoken threats. "If you tell her anything other than what I've instructed, if you do anything to warn her or protect her, I can assure you—your problems will only get worse. Do you understand me, Mr. Haesung?"

The older man's breath caught in his throat. He nodded quickly, fear gripping him. "Y-Yes. I understand."

Taehyung leaned back, his demeanor once again calm and collected. "Good. When Sarang leaves, I will make sure you have everything you need. The house will be sold, your debts cleared, and your wife's care handled. But if you cross me..."

He left the threat unfinished, but the meaning was clear. Mr. Haesung could only nod again, the overwhelming weight of the situation sinking in.

Jimin, who had been silent this whole time, rose from his seat, adjusting the cufflinks on his sleeves before glancing briefly at Taehyung. Without another word, Taehyung stood as well, his expression unreadable as he gestured for the guards to unlock the door.

Both men began to walk toward the exit, but before they left, Taehyung paused, looking over his shoulder. "Three days, Mr. Haesung. Don't make me regret helping you."

The door closed behind them with a soft click, leaving Haesung frozen in his chair, his hands shaking. The room felt colder, darker, and for the first time in his life, he realized he was caught in a web far more dangerous than he ever imagined.

End of POV

In Taehyung 's Penthouse

As the sleek black SUV pulls up to the towering glass structure of the penthouse, the night sky above them is thick with the promise of rain. Taehyung and Jimin step out of the car, their faces weary from the long day spent at the Bangtan mansion. The distant lights of the city reflect off the penthouse windows, but inside, all is still and silent .

The penthouse is modern and luxurious, with floor-to-ceiling windows that overlook the sprawling city below. The minimalistic décor—leather couches, dark wood accents, and a soft glow from the underlit walls—gives the space a sense of calm, though tonight it feels colder than usual.

Taehyung walks in first, tossing his keys onto the marble counter, the soft clatter echoing in the quiet. He heads straight to the living room, collapsing onto the couch with a deep sigh. Jimin lingers at the door for a moment, watching him. He knows Taehyung has been under immense pressure, and today's events at the Bangtan mansion haven't helped.

Jimin finally breaks the silence.

Jimin: "You good?"

Taehyung runs a hand through his hair, exhaling slowly before nodding.

Taehyung: "Yeah. Just... a lot on my mind."

Jimin walks over, sitting across from him on the edge of the couch. His posture is relaxed, but his eyes remain sharp, studying his friend.

Jimin: "It's never easy going back there. The memories, the weight of it all. It doesn't help that we have so much happening with Sarang, Yuna, and everything else."

Jimin: "Taehyung, why are you doing this? Why are you buying Mr. Haesung's house?

Taehyung leans back, exhaling as if the moment he has been dreading has finally arrived. His voice is low but steady.

Taehyung: "It's time I told you everything, There's something you don't know, Jimin... something I've kept from you all these years."

Jimin raises an eyebrow, his impatience growing. Taehyung takes a deep breath, locking eyes with his best friend.

He watches as Taehyung's gaze softens, distant as if recalling a memory that never left him.

Taehyung: "Sarang... she's the girl I saw three years ago. The one I told you about. I fell for her the moment I saw her, but because of Bohan and Taecyeon, I couldn't do anything. I was stuck. I thought it was better to stay away to protect her. But now..."

His voice grows firm, determined.

Taehyung: "Now, I won't leave her. I will make her mine."

Jimin's eyes widen in shock. He stares at Taehyung, the realization hitting him like a tidal wave.

Jimin: "Wait... Sarang? She's the girl you mentioned? The one you couldn't approach because of the situation?"

Taehyung nods, his gaze unwavering. Jimin is silent for a moment, processing the weight of what Taehyung has just revealed.

Jimin takes a step back, stunned by the revelation. He runs a hand through his hair, trying to process it all. But then, he remembers something else—someone else.

"I can't believe it... Sarang is the woman you've been holding back for all these years. But Taehyung, she has Jihan. She's not alone anymore. She has a son."

A small, almost tender smile appears on

Taehyung's face, a rare sight.

Taehyung: "Jihan... I already consider him as my own, Jimin. That boy is a part of her, and if I'm going to be with Sarang, I'll be with Jihan too. No questions asked."

Jimin stares at Taehyung, speechless for a moment. He finally exhales, nodding slightly, understanding the depth of Taehyung's feelings.

Jimin: And where will Sarang and Yuna live now?" You've really thought this through, haven't you?"

Taehyung leans forward, his eyes locking with Jimin's, his voice steady and filled with purpose.

Taehyung: "I've bought three houses near where they're living now. I want Sarang to be close, always within reach."

Jimin raises an eyebrow, curiosity sparking.

Jimin: "Three houses? And what about Mr. Haesung's house?"

Taehyung nods, his tone measured.

Taehyung: "I bought it because it's close to Sarang. When the time is right, I'll give it back to her. But for now, we need to move them out, to keep them safe."

Jimin's gaze softens, a flicker of understanding passing through him. But before he can say anything, Taehyung continues, his expression shifting to something lighter.

Taehyung: "And you, Jimin... it's time you proposed to Yuna. You've waited long enough."

Jimin: "What? Now?"

Taehyung smirks, his tone teasing but sincere.

Taehyung: "Yes, now. You've always wanted to marry her, and staying close together means you won't have to worry about Sarang. We'll all be together. It's the perfect time, Jimin."

Jimin, momentarily stunned, breaks into a smile. The idea of finally settling down with Yuna, of keeping Sarang and everyone else safe, begins to sink in. He nods, the weight of his tension easing.

Jimin: "You're right. It's time."

But what about the raid Jimin asked and I don't think Yuna will agree to these ??

Taehyung : "You've always made the hard decisions, Taehyung. But maybe it's time to make one for yourself—for your heart."

Jimin meets Taehyung 's gaze, the emotion flickering in his eyes, but he quickly composes himself.

You're not going to be able to avoid this forever, Jimin."

Jimin glances up, his expression tight.

Jimin: "I know. It's just... proposing to Yuna, it's a big step, Tae."

Taehyung: "It is. But it's the right step. You've been in love with her for years. What are you waiting for?"

Jimin shifts uncomfortably, as if admitting his feelings aloud is harder than it should be.

Jimin: "What if I'm rushing it? What if she's not ready?"

Taehyung leans forward, his eyes serious but filled with understanding.

Taehyung: "You're not rushing anything, Jimin. You and Yuna have been through hell and back together. She loves you. You love her. What's holding you back?"

Jimin: "It's not just about us Tae. Yuna and Sarang have been through so much. Their past, everything with Minhyun... I

don't want to put more pressure on her."

Taehyung: "You're not putting pressure on her. You're offering her a future, one where she doesn't have to face everything alone anymore. You think she doesn't want that?"

Jimin runs a hand through his hair, still unsure.

Jimin: "I don't want to mess this up. What if she's not ready for marriage?"

Taehyung smirks, knowing exactly how to push Jimin past his doubts.

Taehyung: "That's where I come in."

Jimin looks at him, confused but intrigued.raising an eyebrow he asked "What do you mean?"

Taehyung: "I'll talk to Sarang about the house and the wedding plans. You know how close she is to Yuna. If Sarang's on board, Yuna will feel more comfortable. She trusts Sarang. And once you propose, I'll handle the rest—the engagement, the house, the wedding plans. All you need to do is propose, Jimin. I'll take care of everything else."

Jimin's eyes widen at Taehyung's confidence and willingness to help. He feels a weight lifting off his shoulders, but still, the thought of proposing fills him with nerves.

Jimin: "You really think that'll work?"

Taehyung smile and said , "I know it will. I'll talk to Sarang, get her involved in the planning. Once Yuna knows you're serious about building a life together, she won't have any doubts. You just have to take the first step."

Jimin exhales slowly, his mind racing with possibilities. The idea of Taehyung handling the planning, of Sarang helping to ease Yuna's worries, it all starts to feel less daunting.

Jimin: "Alright. First we will settle them in the new house then I'll propose. But, Tae... what if she says no?"

Taehyung chuckles, shaking his head.

Taehyung: "She won't say no, Jimin. Trust me. You both are have been waiting for this move for a long time and now She just needs to hear it from you."

Jimin lets out a nervous laugh, feeling a mix of excitement and fear. But with Taehyung's unwavering confidence, he starts to believe it might actually work.

Jimin: "You're really doing all the planning?"

Taehyung: "Every single detail. I'll talk to Sarang about the house.

We'll make sure it's everything Yuna wants. You won't have to lift a finger after you propose."

Jimin shakes his head, smiling at his friend's generosity.

Jimin with a teasing smile said

"I didn't think you were such a wedding planner, Tae."

Taehyung laughs and said ,

"Let's just say I have a vested interest in seeing you happy. Besides, Sarang and I will handle it. You just focus on Yuna."

For the first time in weeks, Jimin feels the weight on his chest start to ease. The uncertainty that has plagued him fades in the face of Taehyung's support. His friend's offer to take on the burden of planning means he can focus on what really matters: proposing to the woman he loves.

Jimin: "Thanks, Tae. I don't know what I'd do without you."

For Now, go plan that proposal. You've

got a big moment ahead of you."

The two friends sit in comfortable silence for a moment, the weight of the future feeling lighter. Taehyung's offer has given Jimin the push he needed, and now, with his heart set on the proposal, he can finally see the path forward with Yuna.

Taehyung: "I'll do whatever it takes to protect Sarang , Yuna , Jimin. To protect all of us."

There's a pause, filled only by the soft sound of rain pattering against the window. Jimin rises, walking over to the kitchen to grab two glasses and a bottle of whiskey. He pours them both a drink, handing one to Taehyung.

Taehyung takes the glass, nodding appreciatively. They clink their glasses together, the faint sound ringing through the penthouse.

Taehyung: "To Family ."

The whiskey burns as it goes down, but it's a welcome warmth against the cold tension of the night. Both men sit in silence for a few moments, lost in thought.

Jimin: "We'll figure it out. Together. No matter what happens, we've got each other's backs."

Taehyung's lips twitch into a small smile.

Taehyung: "Yeah... together."

The night continues quietly, the rain outside growing heavier as it washes over the city. Despite the storm, there's a sense of calm in the penthouse. Taehyung and Jimin, though exhausted and burdened with the challenges ahead, know they aren't facing them alone. They have each other—and that makes all the difference.
