Chapter 19

The soft hum of the air conditioner filled the room as Yn sat behind her sleek, minimalist desk, her fingers tapping rhythmically across the keyboard of her laptop. Sunlight poured in through the half-drawn blinds, casting warm slats across her neatly organized cabin. A gentle smile played on her lips—finally, life was beginning to settle, the chaos that once threatened their happiness slowly dissipating.

She adjusted the small frame on her desk, a candid photo of her and Jungkook laughing in a garden—her favorite memory of them. He had changed—slowly, but surely. Calm. Steady. Trying his best. For her. For them. And she appreciated every bit of it.

Knock knock.

Her fingers paused, and she looked up with a soft expression.

"Come in, please," she called gently, her voice like a whisper of calm.

The door opened, and Mr. Choi stepped in, dressed crisply in a grey suit, a man who had seen years in the corporate world and had earned respect from everyone in the company. He held a file in his hand, walking toward her with a professional but kind smile.

"Miss Yn," he greeted politely, extending the file. "Mr. Jeon sent these papers. He wants your signature immediately.”

Yn frowned slightly, her brows knitting together. "What kind of papers—"

Riing. Riing.

Her phone buzzed, interrupting her mid-sentence. Glancing at the screen, she saw the familiar name that made her heart flutter. Jungkook.

She picked up with a gentle, "Hello?"

His voice on the other end was warm, low, slightly rushed. "Baby, I sent those papers to you. Please sign them immediately. It's a company policy thing, you don’t need to check it.”

She blinked, tapping the cover of the file lightly with her finger. "Ahh, yeah… I remember you said something about this before, Kook. Wait, let me just sign it."

Without questioning further—trusting him, like always—Yn opened the file, pulled the pen from her drawer, and signed her elegant signature at the marked lines. She handed the file back to Mr. Choi as Jungkook ended the call without another word.

Mr. Choi smiled at her, a glimmer of warmth in his otherwise composed face. "I hope you both stay happy like this forever, Miss Yn."

Yn looked up, surprised. "You… know about us, Mr. Choi?”

He gave a soft chuckle, tucking the file under his arm. "Yes, Miss Yn. I've been working for Jeon Corporations for years now. Of course, I know about your relationship with Mr. Jeon. It's not my place to comment, but... you suit each other."

A faint blush colored her cheeks. She looked down, smiling shyly, but said nothing more. Mr. Choi bowed slightly and exited the cabin, leaving her alone once again.

Yn took a moment to exhale, brushing a stray strand of hair behind her ear. With a shake of her head, she dismissed her thoughts and returned to her work, the soft tapping of keys once again filling the quiet room.

The screen lit up with the name "Ava", and a smile instantly spread across YN’s face as she answered.

YN (cheerful): “Hey you! What’s up?”

From the other side Ava excitedly said “Oh my god, YN, I have news! Big news!”

YN laughed, grabbing a glass of water and leaning against the chair

YN: “Spill it! You sound like you’re about to burst.”

Ava : “I’m getting engaged!”

YN gasped, nearly dropping her glass.

YN: “No way! Ava, that’s amazing! Wait, to Alex ? Of course to Jisoo—oh my god! When?”

Ava laughed and said , : “Yes, to Alex ! Next weekend! We’re doing something small, but intimate. Just close friends and family… and I want both of you, which means you and Jungkook. I want both of you there and no excuses are allowed .”

YN (grinning): “Absolutely we ’ll be there!

He will be happy too and most importantly

You couldn’t keep me away even if you tried!”

Mina: “Of course. Okay, I gotta go finalize some details, but I’ll send you everything soon. Love you!”

YN: “Love you too. And congrats again, seriously.”

They hung up, and YN let the silence settle around her again. She turned back toward the window, her gaze drifting over the clouds. A small, thoughtful smile played on her lips as she got up and walked to the window, gazing outside. A thoughtful expression clouded her eyes. For a moment, she touched the necklace hanging around her neck—a gift from Jungkook. It was beautiful, delicate… but suddenly, she remembered how oddly he insisted on her wearing it all the time.

“Just wear it, baby. You look beautiful in it.”

She smiled faintly, but a strange chill ran through her.

Little did she know… the necklace wasn’t just jewelry.

It was a tracker. A tiny device embedded inside the charm—designed and installed by Jungkook himself. So even if she wasn’t in her cabin, even if she was out of view, he’d know where she was. Always.

In his cabin, Jungkook leaned back in his chair, running a hand through his hair. He looked at the live location on his private app—still inside the office. Safe.

He let out a sigh of relief.

"Good girl… stay close."

But what You didn't know—what no one knew—was that from the adjacent executive cabin, Jungkook watched every moment on a set of discrete monitors. His cabin was pristine, high-tech, and dimly lit—almost surgical in design. The screens displayed live footage from multiple angles of her office.

Jungkook leaned back in his chair, hands steepled under his chin, eyes fixed on her face as she worked, unaware of the digital gaze following her every move. He hadn't wanted it to come to this—he had pleaded with her to work from his cabin where he could keep her close But she'd declined, fiercely as she didn't want to face any gossip about them in the office .

So, he'd compromised… by watching over her from afar. Tiny cameras hidden so expertly she would never suspect a thing, and speakers installed so he could hear every word, every breath. Not because he didn’t trust her—but because she was his Princess. And the world wasn’t always kind.

Jungkook whispered to himself, a faint smile curving his lips as he stared at the monitor, "You're doing so well, baby..."

And as she worked peacefully, he continued to watch—silent, devoted, and unknowingly slipping into a realm of obsession masked as love.

Meanwhile Taehyung 's POV

The cafe was quiet, the soft hum of background jazz blending with the occasional clinking of cutlery and low murmurs of other patrons. Sunlight filtered through the large window beside them, casting a warm glow over the polished wooden table where they sat.

Ava ended the call, her phone slipping slightly from her hand as she placed it on the table. Her brows were furrowed, her lips pressed into a thin line. She turned to face Taehyung, her green eyes filled with concern.

Ava: (softly) "Taehyung… are you sure about all of this?"

Taehyung didn’t answer immediately. His gaze was fixed on the table, fingers interlocked tightly, knuckles slightly white from the pressure. There was a weight in the air around him — heavy, tense.

Taehyung: (quiet, but firm) "Every word I said is true. I wouldn't lie about something like this, not when Yn is involved."

Ava exhaled slowly, trying to absorb the gravity of everything he had just shared. Next to her, Alex sat still, his hand still wrapped protectively around Ava’s. His usually calm demeanor was overshadowed by a flicker of disbelief and worry.

Alex: (finally speaking) "This is… insane. If what you're saying is real, we’re not just helping her — we’re going up against something powerful. Dangerous."

Taehyung: (nodding) "I know. That’s why I didn’t want to involve you at first. But I can’t do this alone. She needs us."

Ava’s fingers curled slightly around Alex’s hand. Her eyes darted between the two men, her mind racing with thoughts — what they were stepping into, what this could cost them.

Ava: (softly, but with resolve) "If Yn is really in that kind of trouble… then we have no choice. We can’t just walk away."

A beat of silence passed. Taehyung looked up, meeting Ava’s eyes, then Alex’s. For the first time since he arrived, something shifted in his expression — not relief, but something close to it. A shared resolve.

Taehyung: "I won’t lie to you. Helping her… it could change everything. People won’t want us involved. There will be consequences."

Alex: (shrugging slightly) "Then let them come. If we don’t stand up for her now, who will?"

Ava: (determined) "We’ll face it together. All of it."

Outside the cafe, the world moved on like nothing was wrong. But inside, at that little wooden table, three hearts beat with a single purpose — protect Yn, no matter what.

And deep down, they all knew: this was just the beginning.

Jungkook's POV

Jungkook sat in his high-backed chair, posture relaxed but eyes sharp as ever, watching the man across from him—Mr. Kim. Despite the neutral tone of their business meeting just moments ago, Jungkook could feel the shift in energy, the tension that suddenly filled the room like thick fog.

Mr. Kim leaned forward slightly, fingers interlocked, his eyes narrowed with a seriousness that immediately commanded attention.

Mr. Kim: “Tell him to stay away from my Yn.”

Mr Kim just simply nodded but did not utter anything to Jungkook .

Jungkook’s brow arched, slightly confused at first, when he didn’t interrupt him .

Mr. Kim: “I will not spare him again if he dares to come near her. If he even looks at my princess the wrong way…”

He paused, jaw tightening.

“I don’t want to ruin what we have built as businessmen, Jungkook. You are good at what you do, and I respect you. But I will not tolerate your son’s behavior.”

His eyes narrowed. Taehyung? Again?

The mention of his son had his mind racing. There was tension between Taehyung and Yn before, yes, but he had been assured that it was over. And now, Mr. Kim—who was not a man to speak emotionally—was here, fuming.

Mr Kim : “Mr.Jeon ”

He folded his hands together on the desk, voice calm but firm.

I’ll talk to Taehyung, make sure he understands. But you know how young blood can be—impulsive.”

Mr. Kim stood up, adjusting the cuffs of his coat.

Jungkook : “This is not about impulsiveness anymore. It’s about boundaries. He crosses them again—there will be consequences.”

He gave Jungkook a sharp, final look.

Mr. Kim: “Don’t worry. Taehyung will not bother you or Yn again. I promise.”

Mr. Kim’s POV:

"I have to protect her. Jungkook's obsession is going too far."

His voice dropped low under his head every word chosen with deliberate weight.

And with that, he turned and walked out of the cabin.

The door clicked shut behind him, but Jungkook remained seated, eyes fixed on the spot where Mr. Kim had stood.

Something’s off…

He leaned back in his chair, one hand rubbing his chin. Mr. Kim’s tone, the way he emphasized "my Yn"—the protectiveness bordered on possessiveness. And that promise… It didn’t feel like reassurance. It felt like a warning cloaked in diplomacy.

Taehyung isn’t one to back off that easily. And Mr. Kim—what aren’t you telling me?

A storm was brewing. Jungkook could feel it. And he had no intention of staying blind to it.

To be continued …
